ONE MORE MOUSE IN THE HOUSE.......

So the theme this week for the SUO challenge is "Cute Christmas" and I thought, oops, I sorta did that last time when it was Celebrations - I chose Christmas and made a mouse card - so I decided to use the same color theme and use a different mouse stamp since this set is the epitomy of cuteness!!- Right??  This was a fun little guy to stamp and color, too cute, right?  Stamp yourself some cute today and hop on over and join the fun on the SUO challenge blog!! Happy Tuesday everyone! Happy Stamping until next time! Karen

THREE SIGHTED MICE....

The SUO challenge this week is for Celebrations - any kind - could be birthday or Christmas or Mother's Day or St Patrick's Day or whatever your little heart desires!  I chose Christmas so I could color these THREE SIGHTED MICE....See how they run?  This week I am feeling kinda blue because I have let my stamping business take a back seat to my full time job....and on facebook I am seeing everyone who is where I used to be....but alas we have seasons in our life, don't we?  I also know that someday when my brain can't wrap around the rigors of a busy dental office I can stamp again more - and build my business back.  I will die with a stamp in my hand.  But I love my full time job too.  I need two of me to give each my undivided attention.  On that note I will sign off and go to bed since I have to get up EARLY in the morning.  Until next time, Karen

SWEATER WEATHER

The SUO challenge this week is Fall Fun.  I thought that pumpkins are always part of Fall Fun.  So I threw a little vintage in there, and here you have it.  I love Fall.  It has always been my favorite time of year.  Boots, sweaters, hoodies, colorful leaves and pumpkins and mums and all that good stuff.  Someone asked in a comment if there is a website for the blog and yes - there is - It's at http://suochallenges.com/ - and it is a new challenge every other week - so mosey on over there and have some Fall Fun!!  Until next time, Karen  PS Two days ago it was Tate's due date and he has more than doubled his weight and is now up to 7 pounds 5 ounces!!  God is so good!!! ~~~

CANDY CANE ANYONE?

SUO CHALLENGE this week is Holiday DSP, so I had some fun with two different dsp's here - cutting the houses off at  the roof and layering onto this coordinating dsp.  I had to buy this stamp set just to get that phenomenal candy cane.  And that glittery red embossing powder?  Yes please!  So much fun!! On a side note, our baby Tate Keith weighed in at 5 pounds 11.5 ounces today at one month.  He will actually be 1 month tomorrow.  He was 3 pounds 6 ounces at birth.  Tate's a fighter.  Tate's our little SUPERBOY.  :) God is good, our baby is perfection.  All for today.  Until next time, Karen

THANK GOD!!

The SUO challenge this week is Thanksgiving or Thank you.  My thank you is for GOD this week, as our Tate Keith, our little Tator Tot has gone home!  He now weighs 4 pounds 5 ounces - so has almost gained a pound since birth.  He is a fighter.  It has been an uphill journey from the moment of his birth on Sept 11, 2016.  He beat all the odds, and he is our Tate the Great!! We are SO thankful to God for keeping our little Tate safe and growing.  My heart is full.   Until next time,  Karen

TATE KEITH ALDRIDGE ARRIVES!

THIS IS TRULY MY MOST FAVORITE COLOR COMBO EVER. AND THE SUO CHALLENGE THIS WEEK IS "WEATHER".  I WASN'T SURE I WAS GOING TO HAVE TIME TO MAKE A CARD THIS WEEKEND. I HAD ABOUT 4 I COULD PULL FROM MY ARCHIVES WITH THIS SAME COLOR COMBO BECAUSE I LOVE IT SO MUCH, BUT I REALLY WANTED TO USE SOME NEW PRODUCT IF POSSIBLE - SO I WHACKED THIS OUT LAST NIGHT AFTER SPENDING THE WEEKEND 40 MINUTES AWAY WHERE MY DAUGHTER GAVE US A BRAND NEW GRANDSON SATURDAY, SEPT 11TH. IT WAS NATIONAL GRANDPARENTS DAY. IT WAS ALSO SEPT 11TH. JOY - BORN ON A SAD DAY IN HISTORY. NEW LIFE. AND THIS ISN'T JUST ANY LIFE. FROM THE START OF THIS PREGNANCY WE HAVE BEEN CALLED TO TRUST GOD OVER AND OVER AND OVER, FROM THE BLEED THAT THREATENED HIM IN THE VERY BEGINNING, TO MY DAUGHTER TOTALLING HER CAR WITH HIM IN TOW AFTER THAT, TO BEING TOLD HE WAS TOO SMALL AND MIGHT HAVE GENETIC PROBLEMS, TO BEING TOLD THAT ALL ALONG MY DAUGHTERS PLACENTA WAS THE PROBLEM AND NOW THAT THIS TINY BOY WOULD HAVE TO BE DELIVERED 6 WEEKS EARLY. WHAT A JOURNEY OF UNCERTAINTY AND FEAR WE WENT THROUGH. TATE KEITH ALDRIDGE ARRIVED ON HIS TIME WITH ALL THE RIGHT PARTS AND THEY ALL WORK AND HE IS PERFECTION -- AFTER BEING TOLD THAT IT WOULD TAKE DAYS TO INDUCE THE LABOR, HE DECIDED ENOUGH WAS ENOUGH AND HE CAME QUITE SUDDENLY, AND DIDN'T EVEN WAIT FOR THE DOCTOR TO MAKE AN APPEARANCE. HE IS THE TINIEST MOST BEAUTIFUL LITTLE GUY WHO IS SHOWING HIMSELF TO BE SUCH A QUIET FIGHTER.....AS HE HAS NOT NEEDED OXYGEN, HAS NOT NEEDED A FEEDING TUBE, AND EACH DAY SHOWS US SOME OF HIS STRENGTH CLOAKED IN HIS 3 POUND 7 OUNCE BODY....HE IS FEARFULLY AND WONDERFULLY MADE. EVERY CHILD IS A MIRACLE, BUT I AM GRATEFUL WE GOT TO EXPERIENCE THIS CHILDBIRTH AND PREGNANCY THAT WAS FILLED WITH FEAR AND TREMBLING...AS I WILL NEVER EVER TAKE ANY BIRTH FOR GRANTED AGAIN. I HAD 4 KIDS AND ALL CAME WITHOUT A HITCH AND WERE HEALTHY. UP UNTIL NOW OUR GRANDCHILDREN ARRIVED WITH VERY LITTLE COMPLICATIONS.....THIS ONE HAS TAUGHT US A WHOLE NEW DEPENDENCE ON GOD. I HAVE WATCHED MY DAUGHTER AND HER HUSBAND TAKE THIS JOURNEY AND I HAVE BEEN IN AWE OF MY DAUGHTERS STRENGTH - GOD HAS BEEN WITH US EACH STEP OF THE WAY AND I KNOW HE WILL CONTINUE TO WALK WITH US AS TATE GROWS AND MATURES. ONE DAY HE WILL BE A BIG STRAPPING GUY AND WE WILL FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE HOW THIS ALL STARTED. I AM IN AWE TODAY. I AM HUMBLED BY THE DELICACY OF LIFE. ENOUGH SAID. OH, , AND I MADE A CARD THIS WEEK. HAPPY TUESDAY EVERYONE!

ROOM IN MY HEART.....

FOR GRANDCHILD #12, coming in OCTOBER!!  The SUO challenge this week was PRIMARY COLORS, and I went with a monochromatic theme since I don't think PRIMARY COLORS are SU's long hand.  I don't really think we have a primary blue, or yellow, or orange, but we do have an awesome primary RED. :) I'm very excited to welcome Grand child #12, but only GRANDSON number THREE.  We are pretty used to GIRLS in this family.  ;) Speaking of grandchildren, we got to see almost everyone of ours during the month of August!! (missed you Mady and Chloe) but we got to see Ethan, and Kara, and Olivia, and Layla and Brooklyn, and Tovah and Lami, and Luca and Eva!!  We went on a camping trip with most of them, and we just had a wonderful month of kids and grandkids.  So lots of tears when it was all over.  The house gets all meticulous again, but it also gets empty and lonely.  The stray hair ties, and headbands and toys and socks, etc. each offer a stab through the old heart.  And I always go back to my favorite saying, "Don't cry cuz it's over, SMILE cua it happened.....but truthfully, it ain't easy.  Until next time, Karen

FAVORITE NEW DIE CUTS

The SUO challenge this week is to use your favorite new die cuts - and I have to say, though I LOVE all the fancy ones, my heart is happy because we FINALLY go layering shapes - ovals, squares, circles, hearts.  We just NEEEEEEEDED them.  Now if we can just get some edglets back. :) To make this card I filled my aqua painter with alcohol and used reinkers of peek a boo peach, watermelon wonder and pear pizazz to watercolor these sweet posies from one of my favorite new stamp sets, Touches of Texture.  This is such an awesome technique to use for coloring because the paper doesn't pill and you can use regular weight cardstock! I also used this same card for the color challenge over on SCS this week, and I used the same sentiment stamp I did last week.  Haha.  I sound like I so when I wear the same outfit on Monday that I wore on Sunday to church.  Like anyone except me really cares.   Haha.  So egotistical to think they would even REMEMBER what I wore the day before if I happened to run tinot a church friend at work, which I never do.  HAHA.  I am tired.  Can you tell?? Getting a little punchy here.  Nite all, Happy Stamping and Happy Tuesday!! Until next time, when I promise to change up the sentiment, Karen

BLACK AND WHITE AND POP!!!

The SUO challenge blog this week is to make a card that's black and white with a POP of some other color.  Classic.  One of my all time favorite color combos is black, white, and a POP of RED.  Not just ANY red, REAL RED.  :) And this die set is still one of my most favorite even after the release of the new catalog, with all that stellar new stuff!  Black and white polka dots are always right, no matter what the occasion.  And can't we all learn from this awesome new sentiment?  Enjoy the little things, because some day you will realize they are the BIG things!!  Happy Tuesday everyone, and Happy Stamping!!~~ Until next time, Karen

NATURELY SPEAKING.....

The SUO challenge this week is to make a card that features nature and I thought of this new stamp set right away - "Touches of Texture" - I have been wanting to take it out and play with it since the new catalog came out, so this was my chance!!  The only problem is I seem to have contracted another stomach bug, so I had to squeeze this card in inbetween tummy attacks.  It wore me right out.  And what a way to celebrate JULY 4TH, with a tummy flu!! So this shall be short and sweet - Happy 4th to all!!  Until next time,   Karen

HAPPY! HAPPY! HAPPY!

The SUO challenge this week is to feature our favorite new dsp's - and I do love this POP OF PINK set - nothing like black and pink together!  I got my inspiration for this card on PINTEREST, I am not sure who made a similar card, but I loved it and decided to try one with these papers.... This is really outside my comfort zone as I'm not a balloon girl...but these papers - I love them!! For the turquoise I used Timeless Textures polka dot stamp on cardstock.  My other all time fav papers are the glittery papers. :) Happy Tuesday everyone!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!

The SUO challenge this week is SUMMER CELEBRATIONS, and I made a Father's Day card for my husband.  I used the old retiform technique where you use post it notes and make a grid around a focal point and then make a collage by masking off each section of the grid and sponging.  I love this technique.  And my husband truly is the best dad and husband I know!  I love when you love someone enough to really mean the gushy things that cards say. :) :) :) Happy Tuesday everyone!!  Until next time, Karen

OPEN WEDDING SEASON....

The SUO challenge this week is to make a wedding card.   I love black and white wedding cards - with simple lines and a clean design.  This past weekend  I had a sort of stamping retreat with 3 dear friends.....a virtual creating marathon for 3 days!  With all of the moving and remodeling we have done for the last couple of years, I haven't had a lot of times to just create for fun....and it felt wonderful to just make one card after another using sets I haven't had a chance to even open!  I was worried that I wouldn't have enough ideas, but once I got rolling they came to me just fine! ;) Happy Tuesday everyone!! Happy Stamping!! Until next time, Karen

FAREWELL TIMELESS ELEGANCE

The SUO challenge blog this week is challenging us to use retired dsp, or cardstock.  I have used both the Timeless Elegance dsp AND the shimmery black paper which is also retired.  This might be my all time favorite dsp from SU in the history of ever.  SO elegant!!  I also created this for the color challenge this week which is real red, cucumber crush, and sahara sand.  And the dessert is a picnic.  What picnic is complete without a butterfly or two fluttering by??   Well, anyway, this is my card that meets both!  I have been busily helping my husband who is recovering from rotator cuff surgery and I haven't had a lot of time for stamping.....hard to believe it's time for another out with the old and in with the new season!!  Happy Stamping everyone!!

RAIN ON ME BABY!

The challenge this week on the SUO Challenge Blog is any kind of SHOWERS....so I chose BABY showers.  I LOVE BABY showers.  Especially baby girl showers because I LOVE to buy baby girl clothes.  Recently we found out our youngest daughter is going to have us another grand baby.  Oh HAPPY DAY!! Can't get enough grandchildren, right?  My husband and I were just discussing that it sorta looked like our kids were through "showering" us with precious grandchildren and then BAM!! Surprise!! Here comes one more!!  We have 11 in all now, and I really like even numbers so I am pretty happy #12 is on the way.  And we have NINE girls and TWO boys.  I'm thinkin' another girl is on the way.....just sayin'.....but only time will tell.  Many are hoping for a boy, but as for me, I will take either, and love it to the moon and back right along with the rest of them. :) Babies, children, are such an awesome blessing.  Each one of our grandchildren is so different, and so precious.  So I guess you see why I chose baby shower,,,,because it won't be long now.......thank you God.  Until next time...........Karen

SPRING IS IN THE AIR......

The SUO challenge blog this week is for SPRING....and SPRING makes me think of flowers, and weddings, - so I made a wedding card with the botanical die set.  There are no limits to what you can do with this set, and I feel like I could make about 100 more cards with it and still not get tired of it!! I used shimmery white cardstock on this one and the shimmer black paper and then I used the Timeless Elegance dsp.  I think it all came together in an elegant way.  I was also designing this card with the color challenge colors, and though at first I was very stumped by Crisp Cantalope, Sahara Sand and Crumb Cake, it lent itself to the elegance of a wedding card in the end.  So many times the color combos that I struggle with I end up loving.  Colors I would never choose myself.  That's why I love being a part of the color challenge team at SCS.  Keeps me on my toes. :) Happy Tuesday everyone! Until next time, Karen

REJOICE!

The SUO challenge this week is EASTER!!  I just love this little lamb, which symbolizes the lamb of GOD to me, the true meaning of Easter, that we have a Saviour who died on a cross for my sins....and your sins....a real cause for REJOICING~~  So this is my Easter wish for you - that you would KNOW this JESUS who died for you!!  Thank God for his indescribable gift!!~  And the card....I embossed the lamb on shimmery white cardstock and colored him with a white gel pen and then watercolored around him with a paint brush and stamp pads - so fun!!  An early HAPPY EASTER to all!! Oh how HE loves you, Oh how HE love me....Oh how He loves you and me!!! Until next time, Karen

HANG IN THERE!!

The SUO challenge for this week is Saleabration goodies!  This stamp set may just be my favorite!  This is the card that I made last week while I was "hanging in there" - actually I was hanging OVER there, but I thank you for all your well wishes, I am all better and even had my stamping weekend after all! I love my Orrville ladies!! Now I am late to work because I forgot to do this post last night, so this will be short and sweet!  This birdie is the cute bomb though......isn't she?  :) The motto is, whatever you are going through today, Hang in there!! ;) Until next time, Karen

THANK GOD IT'S NOT FRIDAY.....

The SUO challenge this week is BIRTHDAYS!  Aren't birthday's wonderful??  And we always need BIRTHDAY CARDS!!  I chose to post this one which I actually made for the SCS color challenge a couple of weeks ago, BECAUSE......I had the weekend from H-E double hockey sticks!!  I was supposed to go to Eastern Ohio this past weekend to hold a LARGE stamping event with some of my all time favorite stampers - but alas, I awoke on Friday morning at 2 am to spend about a half an hour before the great white throne, sick as a DOG for just about a half an hour and then off to bed I went, and when I woke up on Friday, I THOUGHT I was fine.  So I went about my day, not sure why I had to kind of choke my breakfast down, which is always cottage cheese and fruit, (I like feel totally disappointed if I eat anything else) and my coffee didn't taste all that great either, but I was just thinking I was a little queezy but I'll be fine....so on the day went, last minute packing, last minute cleaning....and at lunch time I was like, hmmmmm.....somehow I just can't eat my usual salad today, so I had a couple pieces of melba toast with peanut butter, trying to keep it bland.  My favorite scent in my Scentsy burner (blueberry cheesecake) was making me feel GREEN, and I kept thinking man, how come I usually love this smell and I HATE IT RIGHT NOW....but plug on, get ready, lots' to do, Keith will be home, gotta leave by 3:30, pack your outfit, don't forget the order forms, remember to pick up some pens, did you pack your boots? hey, stop, no, really, i said stop, lay down, before you fall down.  I went in and found my bed, which eventually led to a panic flight to the bathroom, where I spent the next couple of hours, and I won't get graphic here, but you can figure it out, right?  I was coming down with the nasty flu.....yes my friends, the NASTY one.  I have not been sick like that since I was in my 20's!!  In between episodes I text my dear friend Gloria, and say, Heads' up my friend, I am feeling rather SICK, and she texts me back and says, Immodium helps,,,,,and I chuckled, No, really, I can't swallow anything for the next few hours or I know where it will end up......I know TMI, but when I say I just KNEW in my heart of hearts that I wasn't going anywhere for the next several hours and maybe we could HOPE I could get up and leave at 2am or something.....but as the day wore on Gloria said, no, Karen, it's okay, go to bed and we will cancel - the LAST thing I wanted to do was feel like I could possibly push on through and then find out I passed it to 50 friends.......I HAD TO GIVE IT UP AND GO TO BED AND JUST WEAR OUT THE CARPET BETWEEN THE BED AND THE BATHROOM FOR THE REMAINDER OF FRIDAY.  SO.....when I named this entry THANK GOD IT'S NOT FRIDAY I WASN'T EXAGGERATING!!!!!   I AM SO GLAD IT'S MONDAY IT AIN'T EVEN FUNNY, and who says that????  SOMEONE WHO HAD THE FLU ALL WEEKEND THAT'S WHO!!!!  Also complete with aches, chills, and a rash.  YUP, a rash.  SO PLEASE FORGIVE ME IF I DIDN'T MAKE A NEW BIRTHDAY CARD AND CHOSE TO POST THIS ONE FROM TWO WEEKS AGO, OKAY?????  i am still so washed out that I went to bed and THEN remembered I needed to prepare this post so dragged myself out of bed, and here I am.....with my war story.  Forgive me, I digress.  Seriously time for this tired teddy bear to say goodnight and hit the hay.  Gonna reschedule with my girls in Eastern Ohio, I think they love me anyway!  :) Happy Tuesday everyone, and THANK GOD IT'S NOT FRIDAY!!!  Until next time, Karen

KNOW WHAT I LOVE??? YOU!!

The SUO challenge blog this week features a valentine.  This die has to be one of the most elegant things SU has given us in a loooonnnnng time!!  I used the glittery papers on top of very vanilla....a very elegant look if I do say so myself!!  I just love this card.  I love the sentiment which comes from a saleabration set this year -Know what I love?  You.  HOW SWEET IS THAT?  This was a super quick card to make - and I think I can even call is CAS, yes?  CAS is the biggest style struggle for me evah.....but SU made it easy with this die!  This die is to die for!!!  I think you NEEEEEED one! Don't you??  Happy Tuesday everyone!!  Happy Stamping! Early Happy Valentines Day!! Until next time.......Karen

BABY~~ IT'S COLD OUTSIDE!!

The SUO challenge blog is challenging us with something that makes you think of winter.  HOT DRINKS make me think of winter, and in this case in particular, HOT TEA.  Can I also just brag for a moment?  Last time we were supposed to post which was two weeks ago, I found myself locked out of my blog.  I could not get in to post - I have always had to go between my gmail and yahoo email accounts when I wanted to post and suddenly I could not log off gmail to log onto yahoo and create a post.  I need to brag because I FIXED It ALL BY MYSELF!!!   I am slightly challenged in these things and I still can't believe I managed to just download a new browser after my friend Julie Gearinger sent me a link that might explain what was going on.  :) YAY!!  There is nothing as frustrating than computer problems, well, maybe there are things more frustrating but I can't think of any right now.  So I missed one post but here I am back again!  Happy New Year everyone!!!  Until next time......Karen
